Finding the Perfect CBD Oil for Your Health
There are four main things to look for when picking out the right CBD oil. Let’s take a look at them.
1. Isolate vs. Full Spectrum CBD Oil
Not all CBD oil is created equally. Products advertised as isolates include only the cannabinoid CBD, whereas full spectrum CBD oils include traces of every cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant.
While both varieties are effective, studies have shown that full spectrum CBD oils can provide more of the positive effects associated with CBD oil consumption than isolates.
The concentration refers to how much CBD you get per dose. There are many different concentrations of CBD oil, with doses as small as 10mg up to 60mg and above.
Finding the right dose can be a matter of trial and error. Start out small with a tincture concentrated at a dose of around 10-20mg and experiment with the results. Gradually increase daily dosage until the desired results are achieved.
All CBD oil products contain a carrier agent such as MCT or olive oil. This carrier agent can affect the taste and absorption of your CBD oil. Most quality products use MCT oil.
Other additives can include flavorings or even extracts from other plants used to enhance the tinctures’ medicinal properties.
Terpenes are a major component of cannabis. They are responsible for much of the aroma and flavor of the cannabis plant, but they have also been investigated for their role in contributing to the medicinal properties of cannabis.
Terpene rich CBD tinctures incorporate a generous dose of terpenes to help unlock some of these benefits while also changing the aroma and taste of the tincture.
Look For Laboratory Test Results
Every quality CBD product should be backed up by testing results from a reputable third-party laboratory.
Because CBD oils are an extracted product, it’s essential to know exactly what you’re taking. The only way any manufacturer can be sure is through regular testing.
Even if you’re not sure how to evaluate the results, be sure to purchase a brand with publicly available laboratory testing data. This will help ensure that you are buying (and ingesting!) only what you intended to.
Let Your Doctor Know
If you’re taking any medications or suffering from any ailments, it’s a good idea to let your doctor know about your intention to take CBD oil.
Your doctor will be able to advise you on any potential conflicts between the CBD and your existing prescriptions or medical condition.
They may even be able to help you determine the best dosage for your daily CBD routine.
